Concerts
Scott Lawton is an American conductor based in Germany. He
has served as the Principal Conductor of the Deutsches Filmorchester
Babelsberg in Potsdam since 1999. His activities with the
Filmorchester include performances of silent films, studio recordings
for film and television productions and orchestral concerts.
Since 2004 he has also served as music director of the summer festival
in Bad Gandersheim and is active there as a conductor and
composer. In 2005 he was appointed conductor of the LPO NRW, a
professional symphonic wind orchestra based in Wuppertal. He also
teaches music interpretation at the Folkwang Academy in Bochum.

Concerts titled: "What is American Music?" - compositions by George
Gershwin, Aaron Copland, Leonard Bernstein and Antonin Dvorak. Featured
soloists were pianist Maki Hayashida and vocalist Tinie Zacher.
- Saarland State Orchestra -- "Symphonic Klezmer" concerts in
Saarbrücken; this program featured "The World Quintet" (formerly known
as "Kol Simcha") and symphonic works by Sergei Prokofiev, Marc Lavry
and Louis Saguer. Here is a review.
- Gürzenich Orchester Kölner Philharmoniker -- Film
music concert entitled "Just listen to the bloody music!" featuring
compositions by Sir Malcolm Arnold, Sir William Walton, Alex North,
Bernard Herrman and Ron Goodwin. Sir Malcolm Arnold attended this
concert at the Cologne Philharmonic Hall; it was later broadcast on WDR

- Kölner Rundfunkorchester WDR -- Gala concert of music by
Friedrich Schroeder from his films and operettas presented at the
Kölner Philharmonie.
- Brandenburgisches Staatsorchester Frankfurt (Oder) -- Two
concert programs in Frankfurt and Potsdam: "Tangomania" with bandoneon
virtuoso Lothar Hensel and "Nino Rota's Filmharmonia"
- Dresdner Sinfoniker -- Classic Open Air am Gendarmenmarkt
2001 with soloists Angelika Milster, Uwe Kroeger, Cusch Jung, Anna
Montanaro and Leah Delos Santos. Here is a
